From the warped mind of Grim Fandago creator Tim Schafer comes this incredible platform adventure game. You play as Razputin (Raz for short), an eager new recuit at a summer camp to train young often demented psyhics. Raz has snuck into this camp to train to be a Psychonaut. His parents are coming to get him, so he only has one single day to learn as much as he can. At its core, this game is your traditional collecting platform game. Similar to Mario 64. Around this core is a wonderful story that takes place in two worlds. One is the real world of the summer camp. The other takes place inside of the minds of various characters. Each "mind" level has a unique style that varies from twisted, to totally insane. One level for instance takes place on a cube. You can walk around the cube without falling off the sides. The parts of the level come out of the sides during a terrific transformation sequence. Also, this game does include elements from the classic adventure games I adore so much. Almost everything and everyone in the game can be interacted with in some way. There are conversations abound. You have an inventory of items that can be used in both the real world and in the minds. As you progress through the game you earn new abilties such as mind blast a simple attack, to levitation and invisiblility. There is so much variety in what you can do. It helps that the levels are good sized and leave room to explore. I read a rumor that Microsoft themselves were at one time going to publish this game. For unknown reasons they decided to drop the title. Luckily this game was picked up by Majesco a budget title publisher. I think it was a huge mistake for MS to drop this title.
